"Life is not so much about waiting for the storms to pass as it is about learning to dance in the rain."
And dance they did!
Crystal and Kenny's wedding couldn't have been any better. The rain enhanced the day!
Crystal is probably the most laid back person I ever met. Some brides would have been freaking out, she embraced it.
The morning started out at Ulta where the bridesmaids, mother of the bride and the bride had hair and makeup done. At one point the rain was coming down so hard that I thought it was the rumbling of the AC turning on. After spending some time hanging out with the girls, I made my way to the grooms parents' house to hang out with the boys (men).
What did I find when I arrived? A 1/2 gallon of Fireball and the boutonnière's on the kitchen table. This could be trouble. Do they even know where the boutonnière's go? There was nothing to use to attach them. Kenny was on it. He sent two of the groomsmen to the store to get pins. I was a little nervous when the first thing that came out of the bag was bobby pins... this isn't going to go well. Thankfully, there was something else in the bag. Yes! pins that will work. I set off pinning the boutonnière's on each of the men as they took turns filling their flasks (a gift from the groom) with Fireball.
The rain let up for just enough time to get some pictures outside. I must say, they were so much! I think the beverage in the flasks helped ease any amount of being camera shy.
Then I zipped by Crystal and Kenny's house to take a few pictures of Crystal getting ready. No luck with the rain stopping there. With umbrella's in hand, we did manage to capture a few pictures of the entourage getting into the van. Baby Kendall and all!
Plan B... Ceremony will be in the reception barn. Potential problem... no place for bride and bridesmaids to wait so to not been seen before the ceremony. The father of the bride, drove the van toting all the girls to the back of the barn. And this is where they hung out until it was time to talk down the aisle. In the meantime... the boys were still enjoying their flask and staying dry under the bar tent.
The ceremony was beautiful. At one point in the ceremony, Crystal, Kenny and Kendall filled a bottle with three different colors of sand representing the union of the bride, groom and their daughter.
The rain was coming down pretty hard after the ceremony, so no group pictures right away. The bridal party was able to enjoy most of cocktail hour with the guests. Once the rain let up a little, with beverages in hand, the bridal party made it outside for some quick pictures. Never a dull moment with this group! Their laughter was contagious.
Crystal and Kenny were on cloud 9, glowing and grinning from ear to ear.
Once we made it back to the barn, the bridal party was announced and the dancing began. And they danced, and they danced, and they danced! They stopped long enough to eat and then they danced some more!
Hope you enjoy looking back on their day. It puts a smile on my face every time I look at these pictures!
