Kayla and Phil's wedding was held at a beautiful winery in Mt. Airy, Maryland. The Black Ankle Vineyards is tucked away in the rolling hills of Maryland. The wine tasting room was built by materials found on the vineyard: wood, straw, clay and stone. The hay bale and clay construction of the building is spectacular. It even dons a living roof!
It was a beautiful day for an outside wedding.
The bride was radiant and the groom was grinning from ear to ear.
After the ceremony the bride and groom rode off in an antique John Deere Tractor.
The decorative touches were perfect for a country wedding. The seating chart was written on window panes, the tables were identified by pictures of places Kayla and Phil have visited. There were sunflowers in mason jars and floating candles. When the sun went down two fire pits were lit and the guests enjoyed s'mores over the fire.
Kayla sang a special song to Phil. The father/daughter, mother/son dances were very touching. They had a couples dance where all the couples got on the dance the floor. At certain times the bride announced time frames of being married. If you fell in the time frame then you stepped to the side. Eventually there were two couples left dancing in the circle. Both couples have been married for 54 years.
